Understanding transformations and controlling microstructures to develop steels with improved performance and functionality.

Exploring how steel microstructures shape mechanical behavior and support the development of durable structural materials.

The symposium

The second Asian Young Steel Scientists Symposium brings young researchers together to advance the materials science of steels, with Tokyo as the proposed meeting place for 2027.

The global shift toward decarbonization is transforming steel research. From microstructural control for higher performance and functionality to new steels that extend the lifetime of structures, materials science has a vital role in building a sustainable society.

We welcome young researchers to share their work, exchange ideas with experts and peers, and build lasting connections across Asia and beyond.
